Whare Kea Lodge & Chalet
A peaceful retreat and an adventurer’s paradise
Standing on the shore of Lake Wanaka in New Zealand’s Central Otago region, this luxury lodge appears to float on the water, with the snowy peaks of the Southern Alps forming the breathtaking backdrop.
This elegantly designed Lodge set amid stands of trees on picturesque farmland is at once a private haven and an ideal base for sophisticated travellers wanting to enjoy the wealth of leisure activities on offer in the Lake Wanaka area.
Fine cuisine prepared by the lodge’s award-winning executive chef James Stapley rounds out the experience.
Whare Kea also offers the unique luxury of an alpine chalet high in the peaks of the Southern Alps, reached via a 20-minute helicopter flight.
Whare Kea- pronounced "Faree Kea" translates to house of the kea in Maori. The Kea is the world's only alpine parrot which lives all year round above the snow line in the surrounding mountains.
