Whare Kea Lodge & Chalet
A peaceful retreat and an adventurer’s paradise
Standing on the shore of Lake Wanaka in New Zealand’s Central Otago region, this luxury lodge appears to float on the water, with the snowy peaks of the Southern Alps forming the breathtaking backdrop.
This elegantly designed Lodge set amid stands of trees on picturesque farmland is at once a private haven and an ideal base for sophisticated travellers wanting to enjoy the wealth of leisure activities on offer in the Lake Wanaka area.
With outstanding lake and mountain views, the luxury accommodation of four Deluxe Rooms and two Master Suites, is complimented by the fine cuisine prepared by the lodge’s award-winning executive chef James Stapley.
Whare Kea also offers the unique experience of an alpine chalet high in the peaks of the Southern Alps, reached via a 20-minute helicopter flight. An extension of your stay at the lodge - with all the luxuries and adventures at altitude.
Whare Kea- pronounced "Faree Kea" translates to house of the kea in Maori. The Kea is the world's only alpine parrot which lives all year round above the snow line in the surrounding mountains. Whare Kea Lodge and Chalet are proud to support the Kea Conservation Trust which assists with the conservation of the wild Kea in their natural habitat.
