Overnight Chalet Adventure- October to April

Step onto the lawn at the lodge and into a helicopter to take you on a scenic flight over Wanaka and up into the mountains to land on Dragonfly Peak. Take a hike with your guide, then at the chalet settle back with a glass of Champagne while your host prepares your dinner as you look out to Mount Aspiring in the evening glow. Wake to the silence of the mountains before enjoying a hearty breakfast in the magical surrounds followed by a scenic flight with Aspiring Helicopters back to the lodge. Heliski Adventure-July to September

Be picked up by helicopter on the lodge lawn and fly to the world’s best heli-skiing slopes. Stop for lunch at the chalet then, after more skiing, fly back to Whare Kea Lodge and soak in the hot tub before a massage. Freshen up in time for pre dinner drinks and canapés plus a five-course dégustation dinner. Price on application.


Gourmet Lunch with Altitude-All Year Round

Take a helicopter from the lawn at the lodge and fly over the spectacular scenery of Wanaka and the Southern Alps to enjoy a lunch where you’ll feel on top of the world, with views of Mount Aspiring, Mt Cook and the Southern Alps. Fly back over the Matukituki River to the lodge. From $1500 for two guests in a Robinson helicopter. Enquire for further details.

Extreme Adventure-November to April

For those wanting to visit the Mount Aspiring region, this three- to four-day journey takes you through temperate rainforest to the summits of alpine peaks. Follow the Albert Burn River from Lake Wanaka to its source and climb Dragonfly Peak. Chalet Tramp

For the fit and adventurous there is also the option of tramping to the Chalet.  Multiple routes are available, depending on time, fitness levels and mountain experience.  You don’t need to be a guest at the lodge to enjoy this option, but you can still enjoy luxury at altitude.  Our Great Outdoors Blog "The Extreme Adventure" gives a great insight into the challenges and beauty of the tramp into the chalet.  Please enquire for further details.
